Hi! I am Maria Galarza or Maestra Galarza as my students and families call me . I was born in Guanajuato, Mexico and my parents brought me to the United States in 1989.  This will be my 16th year of teaching.  I have taught the following grades: Kindergarten, 1st, 4th, 5th, 7th and 8th.  I currently teach Kindergarten in the Spanish Dual Immersion Program here at Edward Kemble Elementary.  Every year has been very special to me because I have met wonderful students and families that have left a special mark in my life.  I have learned to share my families’ hopes and dreams that they have for their children and together we do our best to become a strong team to help their children feel and be successful.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy cooking, reading, watching movies, dancing and spending family quality time with my husband and our three children: Alessandra, Camilo and Julietta. I am looking forward to another exciting year full of learning for our students, our families and myself .

¡Hola! Yo soy María Galarza o Maestra Galarza, como me llaman mis alumnos y familias.  Nací en Guanajuato, México y mis padres me trajeron a Estados Unidos en 1989.  Este año será mi decimosexto año de enseñanza. He enseñado los siguientes grados: Kínder, 1ro, 4to, 5to, 7to y 8vo. Actualmente enseño Kínder en el Programa de Doble Inmersión en Español aquí en Edward Kemble.  Cada año ha sido muy especial para mi porque he conocido estudiantes y familias maravillosas que han dejado una huella especial en mi vida.  He aprendido a compartir las metas y anhelos que tienen para sus hijos y hacemos todo lo posible para convertirnos en un equipo fuerte para ayudar a su hijo/a a sentirse y ser exitoso/a.  Cuando no estoy enseñando, disfruto de mi tiempo cocinando, leyendo, mirando películas, bailando y pasando tiempo de calidad con mi esposo y nuestros tres hijos: Alessandra, Camilo y Julietta.   Estoy ansiosa por comenzar este año escolar que estará lleno de momentos emocionantes y de aprendizaje para mis alumnos, nuestras familias y para mi .
